Delegates Sandra Loridans and Howard Feldstein to Travel to Denver, Colorado

Chapala – Democrats Abroad Mexico is pleased to announce that Sandra Loridans and Howard Feldstein living in Ajijic, Mexico will travel to Denver, Colorado this August to serve as delegates representing Democrats Abroad at the Democratic National Convention. Democrats Abroad is the official arm of the Democratic Party for Americans living outside of the United States.

Prior to retiring in Mexico, Mrs. Loridans was a member of the Louisiana Democratic Executive Board. She was appointed by the Democratic Party Committee Abroad (DPCA) to re-organize Mexico’s Democrats Abroad in 1997 and the same year was elected as Country Chair, a position she held for two terms. In that capacity, she represented Mexico at DPCA Meetings in Amsterdam, Paris, The Hague and Washington. In 1998, she was elected Chair, Western Hemisphere (now Americas Region), Democratic Party Committee Abroad (DPCA).

“As a PLEO (Party Leader Elected Official) Delegate for Barrack Obama to the National Convention, I am honored to be actively participating in one of the most historical and exciting elections that have taken place in our country. It is with great humility that I will go to Denver to cast my vote for Barrack Obama, a man who is re-vitalizing our country and has fresh ideas for moving our nation forward over the next four years. I have always been a proud Democrat, but never as proud as I am now.”
"Sandra, a native of Shreveport, Louisiana, is a veteran political organizer and activist for the democratic party. We at Democrats Abroad value her energy and enthusiasm for the Democratic Party, and I know that she will do a great job representing us at the Convention this August," said Christine Schon Marques, International Chair, Democrats Abroad.
Also representing Democrats Abroad at the convention and also a delegate for Obama will be Howard Feldstein, Chair of Democrats Abroad, Mexico. Howard, a native of Boston, MA has been serving in leadership capacities in Mexico for the last four years. “As Barrack has said, ‘This is our time, our moment.’” Mr. Feldstein says. “And we have to seize it, so we can effect the changes voiced by young and old, rich and poor, and people of every ethnicity. I’m delighted to represent the Global Primary wishes of expatriate voters living in Mexico.”

Democrats Abroad-Mexico is fortunate to have Sandra Loridans and Howard Feldstein representing us at the Convention. This is one of the most important elections in American history. We are at war and our country must repair its image overseas. Sandra and Howard have been active in the Democratic Party for many years and will do a great job representing us at the convention.

A total of 22 delegates from around the world will travel to Denver, Colorado, to represent the Democrats Abroad at the Democratic National Convention August 25-28, 2008. Ms. Loridans and Mr. Feldstein were elected in March at the Democrats Abroad Americas meeting in Vancouver, Canada.

The U.S. Presidential Election will take place on November 4, 2008. Through the hard work of Democrats Abroad, many Americans living abroad now have an easier way to register and vote through www.votefromabroad.org. Every American living in Mexico is encouraged to visit www.votefromabroad.org to learn more about how they can vote from wherever they may be outside the U.S.”

To interview Ms. Loridans, her e-mail is SoTouch@prodigy.net.mx or by phone at (269) 978-8420 or +52-376-766-2981. Mr. Feldstein can be reached for interviews at howardf42@gmail.com or by phone at +52-376-766-1364 or at (720) 207 9344.
